Damage to stained glass due to vandalism.
It is important that an assessment of the damage is undertaken as soon as possible. A full window condition report and quotation can then be prepared.
If the damage is severe, sections of a window may need to be removed for full conservation and restoration. It is essential to save every fragment of glass.
The principle of minimal intervention is usually adopted for all repair projects.
Traditional techniques are used to replicate the original painted detail. Various mending methods are employed to retain original fragments within the lead matrix of the window.
